Why have a creative day?

  • Key assessment opportunities. An ideal situation to capture a creative moment in your pupils. The inclusive approach enables all children to express their ideas regardless of their academic abilities.
  • Learning by heart. An opportunity for pupils to strengthen their memory by learning parts of their script and song lyrics in useful ways that can be adapted to assist them in the classroom.
  • Developing vocabulary. An active and inventive way of introducing new vocabulary including definitions and spellings.
  • Exploring emotion. We like to encourage the exploration of emotion and how to express ourselves through voice, words and music.
  • Speaking and listening. Learning the importance of listening to one another and having the confidence in yourself to speak out! 
  • Developing literacy skills. Supporting pupils in their reading and writing as the 'Fizzy' process unfolds.

What's involved?

1. Topic

Choose your topic based on the curriculum, PSHE theme or something totally new! ​

2. The Fizzytree

We then gather around the Fizzytree to share our thoughts and construct a story. This process will end with the tree being full of ideas - a physical illustration of the pupils' progress!

3. Script Writing

Then comes the development of characters to form the script based on our story.

4. Roles

There are many roles that need filling including musicians, producers, costume & prop designers and performers! ​

5. Rehearse

Rehearse and practice every element of our creation.

6. The Performance

All we need now is our audience!
